Summer Schedule Updates

Martial Way will be closed for the Fourth of July holiday beginning Friday, July 3rd through Monday, July 6th. Have a safe and happy Independence Day Holiday.

All Kempo and BJJ students in any of our children’s class levels can attend unlimited classes within their program. For example, Junior Beginner Kempo students can attend any Junior Beginner Kempo class on the schedule. Junior BJJ students can attend any Junior BJJ class on the schedule. Children enrolled in both Kempo and BJJ can attend unlimited classes in each. Questions? Please EMAIL Sensei Quinlan. We are looking forward to seeing our students on the mat this summer.

Congratualtions Junior BJJ Competitors

Many of Martial Way’s Junior BJJ students participated in the Conifer Clash Jiu Jitsu Tournament on May 16 in Hardwick. We’re proud of the way our students competed, and they all showed skill, determination, and sportsmanship.

Congratulations to Grayson Pelletier, Evan Pelletier, Nolan Zammuto, Corbin Zammuto, Will Mason, Maxwell Katz, Ellen Langebauer, Felix Alquinta, Hunter Yoon, Chase Park, and Bryson Gokey. Osu!

Congratulations to Jiu-Jitsu Challengers

Brandon Rodriguez, James Townsend, Kenzo An, and Eric Heikel (photo left to right) completed the Spring 2026 Jiu-Jitsu Challenge. With an average of only two months of training and preparation, they each completed an hour of rolling (Jiu-Jitsu sparring) against a skilled and experienced group of opponents. This is roughly the equivalent of having a dozen consecutive competition matches, and is a true test of determination and physical endurance. Well done, Challengers!

Camp is open to students of Kempo Karate or Brazilian Jiu Jitsu,  as well as to those with no experience at all.  We hope you’ll make Martial Arts Camp part of your child’s martial arts experience.

Adult Classes for June and July

Our plans for Martial Way’s adult programs for June and July include the following:

  • In our Adult Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Program, classes will combine some gi and some no-gi (participants should be prepared for either) and working on turtle position.
  • Our Adult Kempo classes will focus on wrist and arm grab defenses during June and on choke defenses in July. We will be using MMA Sparring Gloves for various drills throughout the 6 month rotation. We have a limited amount of gloves in stock and recommend you get your own, so we have enough for everyone. The glove type must be similar to the ones we have (i.e., boxing gloves are not approved). Please speak with an instructor, if you have any questions.

See you at the dojo and on the mat. Osu!
